Constitutional Law

Constitutional law deals with the foundations of a state, as set out for Liechtenstein, in particular, in the 1921 Constitution. The Liechtenstein Institute regularly conducts research on various issues relating to the form of government, political rights, the structure and functions of state institutions, the eleven municipalities, regional and international human rights protection, and the application of fundamental rights in Liechtenstein.

The online commentary on the Liechtenstein Constitution, verfassung.li, was created by the Liechtenstein Institute, which continues to maintain and update it. The commentary provides a scholarly analysis of the Liechtenstein Constitution, comprehensively covering both case law and academic literature.
