Functioning of EEA Processes and Institutions and external differentiated Integration in General

The Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) is the most comprehensive and institutionalised agreement the EU has ever concluded with a non-member country. The aim of the EEA is to create a homogeneous and dynamic economic area which excludes discrimination on grounds of nationality and creates a "level playing field" for companies from all EEA countries. In order to achieve this objective, new EEA-relevant EU law must be incorporated into the EEA Agreement on an ongoing basis. The transposition must be carried out as quickly and completely as possible. The application of this law must also be monitored. The research project will examine the extent to which the objectives of the EEA Agreement have been achieved, what functional deficits exist and how these can be solved.
