«Sympathy votes» in the 2025 state elections – interactive presentation available

4 Apr 2025 - Notification
Yesterday, Thursday, Thomas Milic presented an evaluation of «sympathy votes» behavior in the 2025 state elections. The Liechtenstein electorate makes extensive use of the option to add individuals from other electoral lists. The interactive presentation of his talk is now available online.

The Liechtenstein electoral system allows voters to change the electoral lists. It is possible to delete individual persons from the selected list, but also to add individual persons from other electoral lists («sympathy votes» or «panache votes»). Liechtenstein voters are happy to make use of these modification options. These changes to the electoral lists also provide an insight into the voting behavior and political preferences of voters.

Thomas Milic's presentation «Evaluation of the panache behavior in the state parliament elections» at the Giessen Service Center in Vaduz concluded the Liechtenstein Institute's four-part lecture series «Elections 2025».
