Liechtenstein team at the EFTA Court Moot Court in Oslo
The event is sponsored by the EFTA Surveillance Authority and universities in the EEA/EFTA states. The aim is to familiarize young lawyers with the institutions of the EEA and to make them aware of career opportunities. According to the judges involved, the Liechtenstein team consisting of Jonas Büchel, Julia Pfleger and Quentin Büchel performed excellently and represented the given case excellently and courageously in the various roles.
The initiative to have a Liechtenstein team take part for the first time came from the Liechtenstein Mission in Brussels, in particular from Ambassador Pascal Schafhauser. Liechtenstein in particular is underrepresented in the EEA institutions, although these offer exciting career opportunities.
Georges Baur, Head of Research Law at the Liechtenstein Institute, coordinated the preparations for the Moot Court and accompanied the team to Oslo. The Liechtenstein Institute will continue to help motivate young Liechtenstein lawyers to apply for the EFTA institutions, but also to work in the EEA staff unit.
