Liechtenstein has concluded numerous agreements with the European Union (EU), which include in particular the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) and the Schengen and Dublin Association Agreements. Legal research on Liechtenstein's relations with the EU and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) analyses the position of the various agreements with the EU within the Liechtenstein legal system, the functioning of these agreements and their institutions and, in general, the compatibility of EU as well as EEA law with Liechtenstein law. Institutional and constitutional issues are therefore the key research interests.
