Visit by the Gamprin Local Council to the Liechtenstein Institute

28 Mar 2025 - Notification
On March 26, 2025, the local council of the municipality of Gamprin visited the Liechtenstein Institute to view the results of the 2024 building renovation work. Director Thomas Meier welcomed the guests and thanked the municipality of Gamprin for its support in this successful renovation of the former vicarage. Following a brief tour of the building, the local council held its council meeting in the seminar room of the Liechtenstein Institute.

During the tour, architect Alex Wohlwend presented Johannes Hasler and the other members of the municipal council with selected examples that were affected by the renovation work. In particular, the newly renovated entrances and exits, the energy-optimized windows and lights, new slats on the exterior façade and various security-related improvements were shown and explained (both images below). Fernando Oehri, head of the building administration of the municipality of Gamprin, also commented on some of the structural measures and challenges in connection with the buildings heritage listing status, which had to be adhered to. Rosmarie Lorenz, librarian at the Liechtenstein Institute, gave the guests a tour of the institutes library (pictured above), which was particularly affected by the work. Following the tour, Fabian Frommelt (Department of History) presented the first details of the new brochure "The Church Hill of Bendern and its surroundings", the printing of which was generously supported by the municipality. The brochure is currently being printed and will be published in April 2025.
