Media and Political Communication

In view of its small size, Liechtenstein has a wide variety of media. In particular, the daily newspaper Liechtensteiner Vaterland (until its termination in March 2023 also the Liechtensteiner Volksblatt) can be said to have a major influence on politics – especially in the emergence and development of Liechtenstein’s party system. In addition to the function of the media in Liechtenstein's political system, research at the Liechtenstein Institute also analyzes the user structures of Liechtenstein’s media, the usage behavior of media consumers, media funding, and the general functioning of the media in Liechtenstein and its current challenges.
