In May 2020, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Economy and Sports commissioned the Liechtenstein Institute to compare Liechtenstein's economic support measures introduced directly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic with other states and to evaluate their economic impact. The focus of the study was on the supply-oriented, direct economic policy crisis response and relates primarily to the months March to June 2020. The comparison group for Liechtenstein was based in particular on the surrounding countries of Switzerland, Austria and Germany. In addition, Luxembourg was taken into account in order to have a comparison with another and economically similar (very) small state. In addition to the support measures, the study discussed the economic developments in the first half of 2020 and considered whether and which further economic policy measures are appropriate in light of these developments. The study was published in autumn 2020.
