The German-language Commentary on the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) is also to include national reports on Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The Hand Commentary, edited by Doris Angst and Emma Lantschner, is to be published in spring 2020 in a publishing cooperation between Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft (Germany), Verlag Österreich and Dike Verlag (Switzerland).

The commentary will provide an introduction to the concept of race, the fight against racism in Europe and the origins, structure and development of ICERD. In a second part, the relationship of ICERD to other instruments of international and European law will be discussed. In the third part, the articles of the Convention are commented on individually, followed by the national reports on the German-speaking countries.
