Reconciling work and family life in Liechtenstein

Hauptverantwortliche Person(en):

The project analyzes the compatibility of work and family in Liechtenstein in the years 2025/26 and aims to show which offers are available for the compatibility of work and family, who uses them and how they are financed. It also identifies the current needs of families with regard to reconciling work with childcare and other care responsibilities. Based on this, gaps are to be identified and measures proposed to improve the compatibility of work and family life in Liechtenstein and contribute to the further utilization of the workforce potential - especially of women.

In the first part of the project, key issues will be discussed with interest groups. At the same time, the work-life balance offer in Liechtenstein will be systematically recorded. Subsequently, group interviews will be conducted in five focus groups in order to record and deepen specific challenges and perspectives. In the second part of the project, selected topics will be examined on a broad basis in a standardized online survey based on the knowledge gained up to that point. The results of both parts of the project will be combined and possible courses of action will be developed for the client.

The study is being conducted on behalf of the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein and in collaboration with the Center for Economic Policy Research at the University of Applied Sciences Graubünden. Initial results should be available in October 2025.

Project duration: 2025 to 2026
