International Law

Liechtenstein is integrated into the evolving system of international law through its membership in international organisations, the ratification of international treaties and various forms of cooperation with its neighbouring states. From a legal perspective, this raises various questions, e.g. how the various norms of international law are to be understood, what effects the recommendations and opinions of expert bodies such as the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) and the Venice Commission have, what the influence of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is, and to what extent the Liechtenstein legislature is bound by such norms.
