Liechtenstein’s economic output measured by real gross domestic product (GDP) stagnated in 2024, interrupting the brief economic upward trend of the previous year. According to the Liechtenstein-Institute’s estimation model, nominal GDP will amount to around CHF 7’484 million in 2024. In relation to the nominal GDP 2023 of the preliminary estimate published by the Office for Statistics, the estimation model for 2024 shows nominal GDP growth of just over 0%; adjusted for inflation, the real GDP growth rate in 2024 is therefore around −1%.

The 2024 GDP estimate is generated using a statistical model. The associated estimation uncertainty is substantial: on the one hand due to the high economic volatility of recent years, and on the other hand due to expectable revisions in the national accounts to the GDP value of the official estimate for 2023, which have been considerable in recent years.
